CLINIC UPDATES: COVID-19
To our patients,
At The Clinic for Dermatology and Wellness, LLC we take great pride and comfort in serving our patients as our family; as such the health and safety of our patients and employees is our top priority. I personally wanted to reach out to each of you to provide an update on the precautionary steps The Clinic, LLC is taking to protect our patients and employees during the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
We are in unprecedented times. As you are likely aware, much of the country is facing temporary business, school and service closures, in addition to practicing social distancing or self-quarantine. With the ongoing spread of COVID-19 and the incredible speed at which things are changing around us, we are monitoring this evolving situation daily and continuously adapting operations to ensure we’re providing you with safe, yet effective dermatologic healthcare.
While we have yet to see a large impact here in Southern Oregon, The Clinic is preparing for potential further restrictions and/or closures of in-person medical services. In an effort to keep contagion at bay, we use the same Oxivir TB sanitization wipes as Asante, as the standard disinfectant for surfaces and equipment. Oxivir TB wipes are effective against key pathogens and have a one-minute dwell time, making them easy to use and quickly effective against viruses, including COVID-19. Additionally, we have heightened our existing protocols.
We already:
-
Employ robust procedures around cleaning and sanitization
-
Supply Purell sanitizer for employees and guests
-
Provide paid sick leave to ensure ill staff members are able to stay home and recover
We are taking additional precautions, including:
-
Increased sanitization of high-touch, high-traffic areas
-
Elevated frequency of employee personal hygiene requirements
-
Provide masks for any patient (one per patient) that requests them while in the office
-
Request that only necessary family members or friends attend appointments to further protect our staff and other patients
-
Immediately cancel patients reporting or showing any signs of illness
-
Any patient reporting contact or possible exposure to COVID-19, travel-related or otherwise, should call to cancel. We will reschedule in the coming weeks, when appropriate
-
All medical dermatology will remain as scheduled. However, effective tomorrow March 17th, 2020 at 7:30 am PST, all elective aesthetic services and surgeries scheduled between March 17th, 2020 and March 30th, 2020 with Joe Gatti, PA-C and Elena Forster, PA-C will be canceled and rescheduled to a later date.
Lastly, we are diligently working with our electronic medical records vendor to provide telemedicine capabilities; we expect to launch our teledermatology services as early as next week. We will provide instructions in another email explaining how to access our telemedicine services and what conditions are appropriate for telemedical care. You can also follow us on Facebook to learn how to get started when we announce the launch of our teledermatology services.
Our entire staff is prepared to help with any questions; we are standing by to assist you in these trying times.
Sincerely,
Joseph Atzenbeck, LT, USN (Ret.)
